From School Library Journal

Grade 3-8-A well-done text on a topic that bears repeating. Madison explains that it's OK and perfectly normal to have feelings that are up one moment and crashing down the next. The easy-to-understand text guides readers through the physiology of dramatic, perhaps negative feelings to the final chapter of feeling positive. In between, readers are given an overview of how to identify particular emotions and what to do with them. Madison also devotes a chapter to "Help!" which has lots of practical tips for dealing with fear, anger, jealousy, etc. Particularly good is the message that readers are in charge of what they do about their emotions. Quotes in colorful boxes, a few multiple-choice questions, and cartoon illustrations on most pages make this title an appealing choice. Filled with good, reliable advice for readers dealing with the new surge of emotions, it will be a positive addition to adolescent-psychology shelves.
